An Update On Our Art
On May 15, 2024 by adminI’m K. L. Perry, an artist through and through, and I’ve got something pretty cool to show you. Today, I want to introduce you to the whimsical world of Knick Rhock. Imagine turning a doodle into something you can actually hold. Well, guess what? That’s exactly what Knick Rhock has been up to.
When it comes to art, most people think of paintbrushes and palettes or maybe pencils and paper. But lately Knick Rhock’s tool of choice has been a scribed pen. This isn’t your average pen, though. It’s electric, and instead of using ink, it pushes out plastic string. You heard that right, plastic! So when you draw, you’re actually creating something that’s 3D – it stands up, reaches out, and adds a whole new layer to the canvas of imagination.
Knick Rhock’s specialty lies in crafting characters with a delicious twist – the portfolio boasts a vibrant Strawberry figure and others, all inspired by food. Imagine a cone character, complete with a cherry on top, crafted in 3D so you can admire it from all angles. Picture cotton candy in soft hues of pink and blue, not just a treat for the palate but a feast for the eyes. And don’t even get me started on the car – a vehicle brought to life, layer by plastic layer, that seems ready to zoom off the table.
What sets this art apart is its leap from the page into our space. This is what 3D means for Knick Rhock. It’s not simply art in a frame; it’s art that fills your room, that casts a shadow, that has a front, back, and sides. And all this is done with the wave of that scribed pen – plugged in, warmed up, and ready to lift artwork right off the table. That’s the magic Knick Rhock brings to the table with her new art tool the scribed pen.
K. L. Perry’s Artistic Journey: Assembling a Cosmic Vision
Abd today, I’m also excited to give you a glimpse into my own latest artistic endeavor – an ambitious project that involves crafting a scene straight from the cosmic vistas of Jupiter. This isn’t just about slapping paint on canvas; it’s a considered attempt to translate the majestic essence of the largest planet in our solar system onto four intertwined canvases.
My new favorite technique. Lately I am taking four canvases of the same size and working them into a single cohesive picture. Each canvas is a window into a different part of a grand scene, and together, they’re meant to invoke the awe-inspiring atmosphere of Jupiter – you know, the one with that iconic red storm. That’s my muse, and yes, it’s bold, red, and swirling with possibilities.
You might be wondering how I conjure up an image of a place I’ve never seen with my own eyes. I rely on the images from telescopes and the imagination that feeds on scientific wonders – it’s a blend of reality and my artistic interpretation. It’s thought-provoking to ponder, isn’t it? This whole project is an exercise in ‘nice speculation.’
I’m even weaving in the concept of the Tree of Life into my work, threading a connection between the earthly and the celestial. It’s quite a challenge – ensuring each individual piece can stand alone yet contribute to the grander narrative when placed together on a wall.
As of now, the pieces are still coming together, like a jigsaw puzzle. A brushstroke here, a touch of color there – it’s a delicate dance between the already completed sections and the ones emerging from my thoughts. Once it’s all done, I believe the collection will not just represent Jupiter, but also the artistic odyssey it took to create such a vision.
The Intersection of Art and Family: A Continuous Story
I’ve just walked you through a bit of what my family of artists and I have been up to. Of course, there’s a whole lot more where that came from. The pieces I’ve shared today, they’re just a taste of the ongoing story we’re telling through our creations. Art for us isn’t just a solitary act; it’s a dialogue, a shared experience that weaves together the threads of our individual perspectives.
The Jupiter series, with its undulating red hues and the evocative Tree of Life theme, isn’t finished yet. And that’s the beauty of it—art is a living process, evolving with each brushstroke. I’m eager to see where it takes me and what the final quartet will reveal about the enigmatic gas giant that’s captured my imagination.
If you’ve enjoyed this peek into our world, I really hope that you’ll stay tuned. I welcome your thoughts and reactions to the work in progress. In my opinion, it’s the dialogue between artist and audience that truly completes a piece.
Looking forward, there’s a lot more in the pipeline. New inspirations are constantly shaping our output, and I’m excited to bring you along for the ride. A family of artists means a kaleidoscope of styles, subjects, and techniques—so expect surprises!
My takeaway for you today is simple: Always keep exploring, keep creating, and remember that your first attempt doesn’t need to be your last. And from my family to yours, we can’t wait to unveil what’s next. Until we meet again, keep that creative spirit alive!
